You have found the perfect sofa for your interior, but you are still looking for a handy and elegant coffee table that will complete your living room. How do you start this quest and what should you pay particular attention to? We give you some tips.
It is nice to combine different elements in your interior, but it is often better to extend the style of your sofa to your coffee table. If you have a sleek, modern sofa, it is best to add a modern table in glass or marble. However, this does not mean that you should completely match the colors of both. Choose colors within the same color palette or go for a bright contrast.

This may sound very obvious, but it is often overlooked. The height of your seat is extremely important when choosing a coffee table. The seat of your sofa must be as high as the top of your table. This not only looks nicer, but you can also relax and put your feet on it.

There is indeed a rule for this: a suitable coffee table contains 75% of the length of your living room. For a corner sofa it is best to take a smaller table, about 25% to 50%. Take these dimensions into account if you want to create an open, spacious feeling in your living room. A large coffee table that is not in proportion to your seat quickly gives a busy look. For example, you can also opt for a glass table to generate the spatial effect even more.

The shape also plays a role in creating a spatial effect. For example, choosing a long, rectangular table will make the room appear larger. But round or oval tables are also good choices. These shapes create a spatial illusion that will make your living room look more spacious and larger.

Like everything in life, it's not just about looks. Your coffee table should also be practical. Do you read a lot of magazines or do you like to do a crossword puzzle? Then it is always useful to choose a table with drawers to store your things. Would you like to have an aperitif in the living room? Then you might consider opting for two similar tables so that you have enough surface to present your snacks.
